I have a 2003 sante fe that has died with a full gas tank. I have tried syphoning the gas out but it appears there is something blocking the syphon hose from going all the way into the tank. any suggestions?

There is a roll over ball blocking you if your vehicle was to roll over there is a ball that will close off filler neck trapping fuel for safety purposes under vehicle follow the filler neck down to tank beside the big filler neck hose should be a smaller hose remove that hose from tank and insert your syphon hose there this should work for you i assume you have determined that the uel pump is your problem and are trying to access the pump??

How do I drain the gas out of my 2003 mazda mpv because of gas prices the mazda mpv will be down for a few months

To do this you will need a decent syphon pump. DO NOT use any other method as you are working with a very flammable fuel!!!
ONLY do this with ALL the vehicle's doors AND windows WIDE open and parked Outside!
Some vehicles have an access panel built into the floor underneath the rear bench seat. This gives access to the top of the fuel tank, fuel sender unit and the fuel pump. Once these are removed you can syphon the fuel directly from the tank.
If there is no access panel you will need to SAFELY get underneath the vehicle and physically remove the tank to empty it. This is a TWO PERSON job as the tank will be VERY heavy!
Trying to syphon via the fill hole often won't work as most vehicle manufacturers fit a 'baffle' into the pipe to prevent fuel theft.

you can't syphon the gas out on these vehicles. They have a ball that is in the metal hose on the gas tank to keep any large object out of the tank. Your best bet would be to drop the tank, and take the fuel pump out and dump all the old fuel. Hope this helps, James Booth

I'm trying to feed the syphon hose into the tank of my 1993 jeep grand cherokee from the filler and the hose doesn't seem to feed all the way in.

welcome to the world on anti gas theft, there is a block in the filler neck to prevent syphoning, you can disconnect the feed line to the injectors and hotwire the fuel pump to drain it

The tank is almost full, but no matter how i put the hose in I can't get it to go down far enough to syphon the gas out

Hi, there are baffles in the filler pipe designed to prevent siphoning. If you need to drain the tank, I would disconnect the filter and use the fuel pump to drain it.

Trying to syphon gas from a 2000 toyota camry and can't get the hose into the gas tank it hits something and won't go in far enough to get to the gas

There is a safety block in there that doesn't aloow them to be syphoned. Sorry to tell you. If you are needing to get the gas out then you will have to drop the tank. It sucks cause it is alot of work but that is the only way it can be done.

Does the 2004 cavalier have an anti-siphon valve between the filler tube and the gas tank?

Yes, it has a wire mesh type anti syphon device, if you desperately need to syphon fuel from the vehicle it can be pushed through with the hose pipe, but you may risk blocking the fuel outlet if the mesh falls into the tank.

Get an inexpensive manual transfer pump. Fuel tanks do not have drain plugs.
