The best thing to do is use a factory wire adapter. The main wires you need to worry about are power, battery memory, ground and speaker wires. If you have a power antenna you will need to wire in the remote (normally blue or light blue). The only other wire should be an orange wire for the dimmer on the radio face. This one is not necessary for normal operation. Make sure you have the main 11 wires wired in. Ignition, battery, ground and the 8 speaker wires.

Hey needed wiring diag. for radio $ AC with all white wire

$ , and AC? and what is all white.
first off what are you doing, we dont know,
1: factory 01 radio for 01 swap?
2 factory 01 for 2010 swap factory?
3: after market to stock 01 harness?
but if #3 , which i suspect, then this is in the FSM read that.
or login to alldata.com
or go to walfart or any store that sells this (auto) and get
the factory harness kit, for your car, this has a real factory
connector on one end and wires to your new aftermarket radio.
this is best, and far better than hacking up any car harness.

If i replace my factory stero will steering wheel controls still work

probably not unless you get a unit that is designed to replace the faulty part as the factory fitted unit has the wiring built in for the steering controls.

What is the wire color code for a2001 malibu stereo. i would like to put an after market stero in?

if you havent taken the factory stereo out of the vehicle yet, if were you i would go to an auto store and buy wiring harness that plugs into your factory harness, that gives you all the colors to match up with your aftermarket... that way nothing gets cut on or messed up... and with the electical stuff linked to the stereo system, trust me you dont want a headache like that... a harness kit only cost like 15 bucks, plus if you ever wanted to get rid of the vehicle you could take your aftermarket stereo out, and plug the factory one right back in... hope this helps

How do i hook up my after market radio

goto www.the12volt.com and hit the download section. has all the wires in there for ya.But your best bet is to buy a wiring kit. there about 8 buck at walmart or auto zone and with that you dont have to cut the factory wires. It always good to leave the factory wires in tact in case you sell the car then you can put the factory radio back in.
