Find the solenoid valve. Disconnect the hose that goes from it to the air pump. Start engine and feel for air blowing out the hose within the first 10-15 seconds of the engine starting. if there is air blowing the pump is good. If not, suspect the pump or the relay/control circuitry for the pump is bad. If the air is blowing, reconnect the hose and disconnect the hose from the solenoid valve to the exhaust. Start engine again and feel for air blowing out the hose. If no air during the first 10-15 seconds suspect a bad solenoid valve or control circuitry for the valve. My Ford Focus had a bad valve and this was how I determined the problem.

I HAVE THIS CODES P0410-P0412-P042-P0411-P0491 COMING OUT WHEN I DID A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TEST AND HOW CAN I FIX IT PLEASE HELP ME BEFOR I GIVE UP AND JUNK IT AND I DONT WANT TO DO THAT TO MY CAR.

codes p 0410, 0411, 0412 all refer to the secondary air injection system--malfunction, incorrect flow detected and circuit malfunction ===causes are --wiring--sir valve---air solenoid--ECM--air pump, air hose/s--ECM
code p 0491 refers to secondary air injection bank 1 --malfunction or insufficient flow=== causes are the same with a mechanical fault added
so to analyze -- the most common cause is air hoses, followed by valve or solenoid of the air injection system followed by ECM which be as little as a bad pin connection in the wiring

Hello there my name is Clara I have a 2001 acura TL 3.2 liters thats reading the code P0740

P0740 is the torque converter malfunction code. The converter is in between the engine and transmission. The fluid that you are seeing is transmission fluid. It needs to go to a mechanic to narrow it down from there.

Engine dies while driving. p0443 code. happens after I get gas.

Code po443 is for EVAP purge solenoid malfunction which will cause the car to stall. Also over filling gas also causes the EVAP canister to choke with excess gas.
Please perform the following test the component failure:-
Tests/Procedures: 1. Monitor the purge solenoid for having 12v Key On Engine Running (KOER).

2. Using a voltmeter attached to the White wire, monitor for 12v to come and go.

3. Check the purge solenoid for clicking at idle. Tech Tips: If the voltage is alternating from 12-0 volts, that indicates that the ECM is trying to trigger the solenoid. If there is no clicking, the solenoid is faulty.

My car runs fine when first started but wont stay running after it warms up my code reader says purge valve solenoid will this cause this problem

A bad purge valve will cause this problem as well as a bad electric choke. If the purge valve diaphragm is leaking it will most likely over fuel choking the unit down

Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop . It takes special tool's to diagnose evaporative emission system's .
DTC P0411 : Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Incorrect Air Flow Detected
DTC P0449: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit
DTC P0455: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak

I have a 2000 Mustang that has been to the dealership 3 times since December. Service engine light came on, diagnosed with PO411 code and they replaced the diverter valve. Car started spark knocking...

Yes, it's possible, but the valve can be tested rather than just replacing it, as there are other possible reasons for the knocking. Knock can also be caused by bad knock sensors. They are not troubleshooting properly. These parts should be tested before replacing. What is the current trouble code?

I'll be honest, it sounds like the transmitter in the key isnt reading. A key remake without the factory transmitter will start the car, but only keep it running for a few seconds before cutting power to the motor. your electronics will still run....This may be too obvious, but honestly, thats what it sounds like.

THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR P1776..SOLENOID SWITCH VALVE LATCHED IN THE LOW/REVERSE POSITION..YOU NEED TO HAVE SCANNED AGAIN AND HAVE "EVENT DATA" READ..
LOOKING FOR TRS CODE..IF IT READS TR2,YOU NED TO HAVE TRANS SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT CHECKED AND FOR BINDING AS WELL..IF IT READS OD,VALVE BODY OF TRANS MAY HAVE A STICKING SOLENOID SWITCH VALVE IN VALVE BODY..ALSO IF TRS CODE LEADS YOU TO VALVE BODY ISSUE..YOU NEED TO HAVE SOLENOID PACK BUILD DATE CODE CHECKED..IF IT FALLS IN A CERTAIN DATE,YOU REPLACE THE SOLENOID PACK,NOT THE VALVE BODY..A GOOD TRANS SHOP OR CHRYSLER DEALER WILL BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM..ALSO TCM IS PART OF PCM ON THIS YEAR VEHICLE AND YOU CANNOT SWAP ONE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE..BUT I DON'T THINK YOU HAVE A CONTROLLER ISSUE..THE LH VEHICLES I HAVE SEEN WITH THIS PROBLEM THE SOLENOID PACK ON TOP OF THE VALVE BODY IS THE TROUBLE..I WORK AS A CHRYSLER TECH..13 YEARS EXPERIENCE
