Question about 2005 Dodge Ram 1500

My 05 Dodge Ram Hemi 1500 4x4 wouldnt start today. It would turn but not start. it took like 10 tries for it to finally go. There are no engine codes showing on the dash. Two weeks ago I changed the plugs, cleaned the throttle body and changed the EGR and it ran fine. The EGR was changed because of random stalling.

get the codes from the ecm.most parts store will do that for free and ask what the code is.

Not starting

Take the positive wire off the battery & let it sit for @ 10 min then put it back on & it should start. I had same problem on my 2007 ram hemi

Could be the master cylinder has gone, if you took the brake line off then you will have to bleed the brake system and that should fix it, you also need to backup and press the brakes so that the pads and piston seat into place but just go slowly and not very far, 10 feet maybe.

When more than 1.5% (300M, Magnum), 2% (Durango, Ram), 2.5% (Durango LEV, Ram LEV), misfire rate is measured during 2 trips, or with 10-30% misfire during 1 trip. 3 good trips required to turn off MIL. Where is egr valve on 05 5.7l hemi 4wd

The EGR on my 05 Hemi Durango is located on the passenger side front of the engine near the head.

I would bet your Ram is the same or close to it.

Dodge/Chrysler EGR valves are known to be unreliable. The one on my wife's 05 Grand Caravan died in the 40k miles range.

They are not really serviceable. The usual fix is replacement. Part will be between $50 and $150 depending on where you get it. Installation most of the time is 2-4 bolts and the harness.

hmmm, I had same problem, but engine light flashed a code.....turn key on and off without starting, leave in the on position on third time, you will see codes come up if you have any where the milage is displayed. Mine turned out to be the EGR valve was stuck. Had it replaced at dealer, was lucky...under warranty.
