i had the same problem. there is a group of wires that go by the distributer and branch off to the distributer and go towards the front. when i would jiggle it the van would die. it ended up being a pinched wire.

SOURCE: no fire to distributor module, coi, pickup coil

Maybe a broken wire going to the distributor, Check that first. Check fuse also ( Engine fuse ). Check distribution box ( brain box ).

Truck won't run

By "...but is firing." I assume you mean that it has ignition spark at the spark plugs? Have you checked fuel pressure? Is the fuel tank empty? (That will definately make it lose power and stop running.) Do you have injector pulse at your injectors?

1992 ford f-150 will not crank untill the fuel pump stops fuel pump will run 15 to 20min befor i can crank the truck

Changed the fuel filters lately? Also, may be a defective pump or clogged in-tank pickup. Pump should put around 40psi to the rail.

Need to tow 1999 F250 about 150 miles home. What

If you have a stick shift, you rent a 2 wheel tow dolly and run the front tires onto it and strap it down. Put the truck in neutral and away you go.
If you have an Automatic you want all 4 wheels on a flatbed or tow trailer. You rent a car hauler trailer and piggyback the truck onto the trailer. A good rental will know the weight and rent you the right trailer.

F150 Ford 1998 is there a fuse for a trailer and where is it located? Thank you

There are a few fuses for the trailer tow adapter.

1st, is theodd location on the 97-98, engine mini fuse panel has a 20 A fuse forthe stop / turn lamps. Have seen it covered in tape from the factory onsome 97-98 MY trucks.
This is on page 142 in the owners 1997 manual, all the revisions for the 1998 owners manual I have seen do not include this fuse box for some reason.

Download a PDF version from Ford, for the 1997 MY at :

This is a picture of the Power Distribution Box, additional relay box and engine mini fuse panel with the covers off. The 20A in the upper right panel with the red base, is the trailer stop/turn fuse.
