I have similar problem. metal peice is the one that connects to the engine block from that larger metal pipe. larger metal pipe being the one that branches off through a hose back towards the coolant resovoir as well as to the engine block. this is in my 2001 2.2 chev cav. any advice?

1999 chevy cavalier is over heating and the resiviour is boiling what would cause this?

If there is no coolant lost on the ground or you are not having to add coolant to the system but it is still boiling in the reservoir, it may not be completely full or it has a head gasket leak. Have a coolant system pressure check run on the system or go to autozone and rent a coolant system tester to do it yourself. If it does the system does not hold pressure and the leak does not appear to be external, it probably has an internal leak most likely the head gasket.

Need to see picture of water pipe from the engine to the air conditioner, water is leaking.....

Water is supposed to leak from the A/C. There are COOLANT pipes/hoses from the engine to the HEATER...is that what you mean? you dont need a picture, just look and see where the leak is from.

99 cavalier is leaking coolant and I can't tell where it's coming from.

Get a bright flashlight and look all around the intake manifold gasket area. The Dex-cool antifreeze used in GM cars and trucks can deteriorate the manifold gaskets and cause coolant to leak. Very difficult to find, but if it is leaking there, the manifold will have to be removed and a new gasket installed.

Car is leaking coolant from a rubber L shape pipe coming out of the fire wall

The L shaped pipe you are talking about is the drain tube to your heater box for the airconditioning. In the same box is the heater core that carries antifreeze for the heater. If there is coolant leaking from the drain then the heater core is leaking and needs to be changed.

My 1999 Chevy Cavalier is leaking coolant. Where could this be coming from?

There is SOOO many places these cars leak from the best bet is to have the cooling system pressure tested at your local garage to diag. the leak.

Coolant leaking into car from passenger side

Coolant passes through the heat exchanger below the dashboard heating the interior air from the engine heat. The heat exchanger or its pipe is leak somehow.
A temporary measure is to change the heat/cool knob to cold position. This disconnects the radiator.
Note: If the leak is before the valve then it will not stop leaking.
Also if you use the heater then You need to get the pipe repaired.

Leaking Coolant - Water Pump Replacement

Depends on your experience, confidence, what tools you have and how much risk you can tolerate if you get into the job and can't finish it or do it incorrectly. A water pump poorly done could result in a damaged engine. It's a fair ways complicated for a novice but within the range of someone who's done brakes or replaced belts, hoses alternators etc. To see what you have to do, find a repair book for your car at the library. Otherwise it will cost somewhere around $200 to $400 depending how complicated the repair.

Coolant leak

If it's a 2.2 ohv it's a head gasket. If it's a a 2.3 or 2.4 quad-4 ohc it's a water pump.
