Re: 2007 chevy equinox driver side window quit working...
I had same issue, you must remove driver door panel and you will notice some wires have broken after constant open/closing of door. Reconnect wires and you are good to go !
Just had the same problem and thought we had to order a whole new control panel, but our honest mechanic showed us the worn wires and we were good to go in no time and no expense. It was also affecting the door lock. All fixed. Dont spend your money without checking these great websites first.Just had the same problem and thought we had to order a whole new control panel, but our honest mechanic showed us the worn wires and we were good to go in no time and no expense. Sounds like your window switch (the thing you touch to make it work) is worn. The connection at the window motor is easy enough to test since it's typically only got a power and a ground wire, this would tell you if power is being sent by the switch to the motor. I say all of this because I'm assuming it's your driver's door with the master switch; if not, the others are usually interchangeable and you can borrow one from another door for testing purpises.
Test the MASTER switch at the drivers side. It seems to be a "wiring problem with the Master switch. The master switch is the switch that controls ALL the cars windows.
The passenger window switch gets both power and ground from the master switch. You have replaced the passenger side switch and it still had the same result and if the wiring is good from the master switch to the passenger side switch, then the only thing left would be the power window master switch. Check all wiring of the Master switch. That's the only thing that's left to do.
"...when master switch remove, NO WINDOWS WORK" This is correct--your master switch is part of the total circuit for all the windows to operate. Assuming the other windows work on their "relative" switches (passenger switch works passenger window etc.), you can assume this; it is not a relay problem. You only have one relay--a bad one would affect all window switches. First, check your ground wires! Disconnect, clean (abrasively) and reattach) Second, use a test light (starting at the master switch terminal) to determine if and why it's not getting voltage.
I have an 05 equinox had same problem with driver window, ended up finding broken wires in rubber boot between door and jamb, pieced out broken wires, problem solved....
their are fuses that control the windows so check those out then check the wiring with a test light if the poblem is still their you ma need to replace the driver side window motor
