How do I turn off the check engine oil light in 2001 tahoe

If it's truly an "engine oil level" light it will go out when the level is corrected unless the sensor is bad. If it is the oil change reminder, turn the key on and push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and back 3 times within 5 seconds the reset the light.

How to reset the change oil light on 2001 chevrolet suburban LS

Turn the ignition key to on position, but do not start the vehicle.
Wait for the "change oil light" to come on
Tap the throttle pedal three times quickly
Wait for the light to flash several times, then go out.
Start the car and drive and it won't come back on.

It usually works the first time, but repeat if light stays on.

My 2001 chevy tahoe acts like its not getting gas. It will start but no go anywhere and die when you give it gas. The check oil pressure light came on when it died today. It started after I had my oil...

I would call the place that changed the oil. It is possible some rookie disconnected something. It is also possible for the fuel pump to be failing by coincidence.

How Do I Reset oil Indicator 2005 Chevy Tahoe

Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. However, if the light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, the system did not reset. Repeat the procedure if the system does not reset.
This is for a 2001, I couldn't find info for a 2005, also said that a phone call to the dealer should answer it over the fone.

I just had the oil changed in my 2002 Tahoe but the ''change engine oil'' light keeps coming on. How do I turn it off?

Turn the ignition to the on position so dash lights come on, but do not start. Now pump the accelerator pedal three times quickly. The light will go off for another 3,000 miles

I have ust serviced my 2001 volvo s40 and now the

did the sevice light come on before you serviced it? when you "serviced" it I assume you changed the oil and now need the service light reset.
I bought the 1998 S70. it got time to change the oil. Being how I am I changed the oil myself. I had to call dealership about resetting the service light.
they said $29.96.
I said 29.95?!!! how much if YOU would have changed my oil and reset the light?
they said $29.95.
so I learned you need to access the OBDII to reset the light.after service. hope this helps.

Trouble with the oil change

Yeah just because you changed the oil in the truck is not that smart to know maybe someday but not now...it just has a counter that you reset at oil changes more of a reminder if you will that keeps track of miles..check your owners manul to be sure...or even a local garage and have them show you its real simple just cant remember right know
