Sound like a bad front wheel hub bearing, if you can jack up the front end of your car and turn the front wheel's and listen for the sound or take it to a repair shop to have it check, if not taken care of will cause more damage to your car.

The vehicle will suddenly jerk to the left at acceleration, and when you lift your foot from the accelerator it tugs to the right. Probable cause?

could be a differential problem, or half shaft broken where power is only going ot one wheel. when the car accelerates the wheel with power can cause the vehicle to jerk. could also be a wheel problem. ensure the tyres are inflated correctly. is the steering wheel straight or turned to one side when driving in a straight line. if turned there may be damage to the steering system. did the symptom start after another person has driven the vehicle? or after an accident or driving into a curb or off road? all these may be factors to the problem. if not the case try rotating the wheels front left to rear right and front right to rear left to see if the problem disapears. if persists seek professional to test drive the vehicle and give an appraisal to the cause.

I hope this was helpful.

Sounds like you need a wheel hub. Jack the car up then safely pull the tire with your hand on the top and bottom of it. If it moves at all you need a wheel hub, some will barely move at all.

The first thing i would check with this kind of problem is the ignition switch if it's mounted in the steering column. There may be a wire on it that has an OK connection when the steering wheel is pointed straight but turning the wheel to the right stresses something a little and cuts power to an important leg of the switch.

G'day mate well lets tart with are there obvious marks on the chasis / steering arms/ stabizer bar where the tyre has been rubbing, if not then does it have a shaft problem or is the bearing worn out and letting it flop baddly with the freeplay to that side , check these and go from there, if the steering isnt correctly "centred" ( exactly the same lock from each side) check this by turning the wheels hard right then count the amount of turns to the hard left then take the wheel back half the amount and get out & check if the tyres are pointing straight if they arent then get it fixed. hope this helps
