Replaced computer module on 97 Ford, won't shift gears in Drive
I just replaced the computer module in my 97 Ford Taurus SHO. After picking it up from the dealer to drive it home I couldn't get the car to change gears in while in drive. What could be the problem.

Did you test drive it,before you paid. NO,why not? Take it back, sounds like they didn't either. Why would you waste extra money ,by going to a dealer vs. a local repair shop?

Are you parked on a hill.
If so your parking Paw is jammed.
Rock the car as you try to get it out of park.
If you are parked on a hill next time use your parking brake.
give feedback .
Hi did you do a continuity check check if there's a wire shorted or open you'll need a volt meter check if the wires on the crank sensor going to the control module and also the one from the coil to the module there has to be a shorted or open wire check this and get back to me good luck
With my 98 Taurus with the same problem, simply replacing the fuse solved both problems. The fuse is under the hood - it was the small 30amp on the toward the engine side under the relays.
