Have a 1985 Nissan 720 ext. cab pickup and i trying to locate the air / fuel mixture screw on the carb? also, when i start the truck in the morning (cold start) i warm up the truck. as im driving the truck seems to back fire? once the truck has warm up there no back fire, but the idle seems to be higher? does anyone know what could it be? let me know please!!!!
You need to adjust the automatic choke. Your choke may not be opening fully. There is a fast idle cam linked to the choke to keep the throttle open more until the engine is warm. The idle mixture screw is part 37 in the picture, but get the choke adjusted right first, and you may not have to adjust the mixture screw. See adjustment procedures at link beloe.

SOURCE: need diagram of firing order for 1985 nissan
The firing order on an in-line four cylinder engine is 1-3-4-2, with cylinder 1 being the closest to the radiator in a rear wheel drive, or the closest cylinder to the alternator, power steering, AC pulleys for a transverse mounted engine. Please don't forget to rank this solution.
SOURCE: when installing a distributor on a 1985 nissian
With the valve cover off, turn the crank so the timing pointer is at 0. This is Top Dead Center. As you go past this point the exhaust valve should start to open. If it does then insert yout distributor so the rotor lines up with #1 plug location. If the intake starts to open, leave the distributor out and make 1 complete rotation of the crank until the pointer lines up to 0 again. As you go past TDC this time the exhaust should start to open. Now you can put your distributor in. The crankshaft makes 2 turns to every oine turn on the camshaft. Hope this helps.
