run a can or quality injector cleaner through the system and if it doesn't improve in a few miles , have the injector serviced
I'm not sure that there was one on a 2002 Intrepid. I had a 2002 Intrepid SE with the standard heating/air condition package (not the automatic temperature control), and mine didn't have a cabin air filter.
Anytime a Chrysler product of this year has a check engine light, get it to a dealer immediately. The 2.7 liter engine is notorious for oil sludging. This can be a dangerous problem that can destroy the engine.
Your problem may have nothing to do with oil sludging, and I hope it doesn't; but don't take a chance.
