What is the typical temperature reading for a 99 Pontiac Grand Am gt?? Im not used to V6 and wondering if I should worry about where it sits... Getting ready for a long road trip next weekend.

PO128 -- engine coolant low or thermostat not working
P0440 - EVAP system malfunction, gas cap loose - Cat convertors missing from car can cause this
P1189 - Engine Oil Pressure Switch Circuit -- CAT CONVERTORS MISSING FROM CAR can cause this.

Oil pressure switch issue
Coolant temperature sensor issue
EVAP system issue
All different issues, so I suggest seeing a mechanic.

Check normal things test drive for noise in front end usually pretty dependable car check for trany slip

Check fuses on panel block. Try to fidn the right location in this link: 1999-Pontiac-Grand-Am-Owners-Manual

That is an intake backfire, meaning you have the valve timing wrong. Not quite sure right now on what it should be but check timing belt position and valve timing gear positions.
