There are 2 ports, the low pressure side is larger in diameter, and that is where you attach the freon container.
The thinner hose is the high pressure side, and is not where you add freon, but only attach a gauge.
Wear eye protection.
Locate the receiver/dryer, after the condenser.
It is a cylinder with a small glass port at the top.
With the engine running, add freon until you no longer see bubbles in this sight glass. But do not add more than that or you could blow the pump on liquid.
You can put the freon can in a bowl of warm water as it slowly is sucked in and ices up.

My air conditioner works but does not cool . i have added freon the last two years and fixed the problem ,did the same thing this year but did not help .

When self adding freon after it leaks out you get air trapped in the system. After adding freon a couple of times the air expands not leaving room for the needed freon. To continue adding freon with air tapped will knock the compressor out pretty quickly, there's not enough room for both & the air is keeping the freon from being able to cool properly give the false indication of being low on freon. The freon you are adding has the dye added to assist in finding the leak since freon does not evaporate nor dissipate it its being leaked out. A black light will assist locating the leak. The best thing is to have the unit checked & serviced by a mechanic...he'll charge about $ 150.00 to check for leaks, remove the old freon...his machine will tell him how much air its trapped in the system by how little freon is removed. For the service fee he will replace valves & gaskets, where needed, correcting most leaks. After sucking the system down & recharging the problem should be corrected.

Should i see bubles n the little glass when i've added enough freon to the A.C.

You will see bubbles when freon is low....so, keep adding freon untill you see "no more bubbles" (clear)..as soon as it is clear STOP adding freon...You should be good to GO...

Where do i ad freon to my chevy equinox

You shouldn't ever have to add freon to an a/c system. It is a closed system - like your refrigerator. When was the last time you added freon to your refrigerator or home a/c when there wasn't a problem?

If you are needing to add freon, then you have a leak somewhere that needs to be repaired. Your local automotive technician can diagnose the problem for you. Freon should only be added by trained professionals. If you don't know what you are doing, you can charge the system incorrectly causing significant damage to the system.

If you still want to do it yourself, reference this article.
You will need a set of A/C Gauges, and freon.
Do NOT put any type of stop leak into the system - this can cause irreversible damage to the compressor.

We added freon but it still doesnt blow cool air.

When adding the freon, did you add it using a pressure gauge? If there is too little OR too much freon in the compressor it won't turn on. Could also be the compressor relay or switch.

Added freon to ac and car will not cool

Needs to be checked for a freon leak, best way to do this is to recharge and add dye, with a uv light you will be able to fine the leak, most auto parts sell the dye, and the flash light you will need to fine the leak, good luck.

A/c compressor not working added freon but it

Either the system is still low of freon,or the sensor (one of them)is bad.The sensors are on the high side of the system, liquid line.If you will get on chat,I can help you with this,it will take a while,I will need to know how much freon was added. And what the system is doing,is the ac clutch engaging, etc?Ask for ronicon, when you click on chat with, type my name in,roniecon, with your text, that you are writing .

2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS after adding Freon A.C runs warm and cold

It sounds like by adding refrigerant to the system it may be over pressurizing. When this happens it will cycle on and off.

You will need to hook up a set of manifold gauges and monitor the high and low pressures to see what is happening.
