I have a1994 gmc Sonoma. Fuel pump fuse keeps blowing. Dealer said it was fuel pump. I replaced it and it still will not hold a ffuse. I disconnected the fuel pump wiring harness and it still blows a fuse. Pulled out the relay and it still blows a fuse. Any suggestions?

Your vehicle might have a fuel cut-off relay, it is usually mounted out on the frame near the fuel tank, on the firewall, or sometimes around the battery, and it looks like what is is this picture. Let me know if that is, or is not the problem.

The only other things on that circuit are your PCM(power control module) and the fuel pump/oil pressure switch. You can start with that but it is more than likely a ground somewhere on that circuit. If this helped four thumbs up please.

Somewhere you have a ground fault in the wiring system. Sometimes if the O-ring on the fuel pump assembly is bad it allows a improper ground. Be sure to also check the fuse box wiring to assure that all grounds are tight. Some fuse boxes have multiple grounds.

1997 GMC Sierra, I keep blowing the ECM 1 fuse, I replaced Fuel Pump relay and Fuel Filter. Does the ECM 1 Fuse Pump the Fuel Pump, also disconnected the Fiter turned on the key and no fuel.

ecm1 is injectors not fuel pump ecm-b is fuel pump its more likely to be a faulty relay for the injectors, it would be a similiar design to this
12900_oil_sending_unit_and_fuel_pump_circuit_80-yoo05im5qhid2i2poe1uh03c-5-0.gif this is for the fuel system, relay for the injector is nearly the same.

The fuse for the fuel pump keeps blowing on my 1991 gmc sierra

Could be caused by a bad fuel pump. Or short in wiring.

How do i get the fuel pomp out of my 92 gmc sonoma

If it is fuel injected look for it inside the fuel tank .
Drop the tank slowly with a jack underneath it by unscrewing the bolts holding it and change the pump by unscrewing the round flange on the top of the tank .Do not make sparks as you can blow up any minute because of the vapor existing there .Work with rubber or wood when hitting something .

Fuel pump fuse keeps popping

You have a short to ground or the pump is starting to go bad. You can run a seperate wire from the hot side of the fuse to your pump to see if it is the pump or if you use an ohm meter to check the wire and the pump. Get's a little technical though.
