If it's the electrical motor type of pump, you must connect to a full scale scanner like Lexia 3 to get it reset.

The ECU shouldn't have anything to do with changing your power steering pump. If you want to reset it and definitely need to change the pump, Kill two birds with one stone. Disconnect the battery while you change the power steering pump. When you're finished changing the pump, sufficient time will have elapsed so that when you reconnect the battery, the ECU will be reset. Just bear in mind that when you do this, any devices that use a memory (radio presets, clock, etc.) will need to be reset to your preferences.

i have never heard of a bleed nipple on power steering.

you just turn the wheele from full right lock to full left lock and back a few times and the system bleed itself.

if there is still a problem after doing this, then it suggests a fault in the compressor, or the rack itself.

It is always best to have a mechanic look at your car. It can be numerous problems and only by looking at the car can you truely detect whats wrong.

But with a little bit research, the 307 uses an electric hydraulic power steering. So it sounds like it will draw power from your car battery. If your battery isnt fully charged or getting enough power to everything in your car, your powersteering could not work. Does it just not work all together? or is it come and go?

Or you could need a new power steering system. As i said it is best to get a mechanic to actually look at the car.

its an electric pump on these vehicles and it has a thermal fuse ,by the sound of it i think this unit is playing up ,their about 600euros plus labout to change it

make sure you bleed it well lock steering left and right and hold to make sure all pipe are full pf fluid and top up power steering
