Hi,
The crank sensor is on the front (belt) side of the engine. From all the way towards the bottom right behind the crank pulley. You have to remove the vibration damper and pulley to get to it. You can see that it will be having two wires running to it.
Thank you !

Sounds like it's you spark plug leads. Depending which engine you have in there, if you have the 2.4L then it is a module.

Find where the throttle cable goes the the throttle body. Now on the opposite side of the throttle body is the TPS 3 wires/plug.

Trying to hook up a tack and can't find the coil on a 97 chevy calvalier 2.2 liter

The coil packs (there are 2) are on the back side of the engine, towards the fire wall. They are positioned about half way up the block, above the crank knock, and cam sensors, and are near the centerline of the vehicle, a bit to the passenger side. They are crowded, but accessible from underneath. Access from above involves removing lots intake and throttle equipment to reach them. Also, if your tach is designed to run on a single coil ignition, it probably won't work if connected to a coil pack. You would be better off taking signal from the ECM or maybe the crank sensor..

97 Cavailer won't crank HELP!!

my next step is to MANUALLY attempt to see if this engine will turn. Disconnect battery, remove starter completely which will expose the flywheel. With a HEAVY flat blade screwdriver partially inserted by a tooth in the flywheel, exert pressure in a pivot movement trying to move the flywheel . If it doesn't move the engine is seized.
