you were suppose to have the radio unlock code .if you don't have it a GM dealer will unlock it for you and tell you a code for it
this is all for antitheft system
You will need to take it to your local dealer for them to pull code and call Delco for the unlock code,This usually takes about 10-15minutes.Make sure they give you the unlock code so you could use it for that radio if you lose power to it .
The dealer will need to get the code to unlock the radio. How it works is they retrieve a code from the radio, thenthe code is called in to get another code to unlock the radio.
They will charge you for this. It usually takes about a half an hour.
shouldnt have to pay notify a chevy dealer in person for code most dealers wont deal with a code problem over phone they dont charge for the code due to the fact that a dead battery can also lock out the radio system into the anti-theft mode
I've heard of people using Delco Lock Codes (http://www.delcolockcodes.com) to get their radios unlocked. They seems like a legit site from what I've read. Good luck!!
Search the net for "Delco unlock codes" OR "Delco security codes" you should easily find a set of instructions telling you to get a code from your radio and then call an 800 number. Follow these instructions. This will give you the factory unlock code for your stereo. Worked for me and for heaven sakes don't pay anybody for this information - it's free.
