2001 Pontiac Sunfire. Engine Warning light comes on when I use gasoline with ethanol. Does not come on when I use gasoline without ethanol. Since more and more companies are now using ethanol I will soon have the light on all the time. Is there another way to prevent the light from coming on with ethanol laced gas.
When the light is on you need to pull the OBD codes with a code reader or go to an autopart store and have them do it. With that in mind ethanol changes the exhaust coming out of the engine, the ethanol causes the oxygen to be higher in the exhaust than is expected and the light comes on. You should have the codes checked to be sure. However there is no damage coming from this light, if that is the cause.

Did you use a special wire harness? GM connected some computer system wiring with the stereo system, so if you replace this, there will be no chime when you open your door with the headlights on or keys in the ignition...and some other warning stuff. This special harness can be bought, but it is expensive (around 80-150$). Go to electronics store and ask for one. Anyways, hope this helps.
SOURCE: A/C Orifice Tube on Sunfire
Pontiac has bad habit of moving them around on us.
Example: on the 2000 Sunfire it is at the outlet of the condenser up near the front of the car. On the 1998 it is on the high pressure line right as it enters the firewall.
Therefore I am comfortable in saying that you will find it in the outlet of the condenser up near the front of the car.I recommend that if you are doing this repair yourself, ensure you replace the o-ring on the line itself with a new one.
Thank you for your question and good luck.
SOURCE: check automatic transmission fluid 2001 pontiac sunfire
You need to raise the vehicle and start it. Remove the plug near where the passenger side driveshaft comes out. The head of the plug is 7/16. Trans fluid will stream out of the hole when the engine is running when the transmission is full, If fluid doesn't run out, fill the trans until fluid runs out. The fill cap is red and it is on top under and around the air cleaner box. If you need more help let me know.
