Your anti lock brakes have become history, the light is going to stay on, because the brakes are gone. You still have brakes, but you don't have the anti lock device. Most cars give out in the rear, and most people do not get them fixed, expensive. They just put tape over the light and drive. I took the bulb out of the dash, have never had a braking problem, been years. But I didn't tell you what to do, just what I did. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: anti lock brakes light

Good Day,

Usually that indicates bad ABS sensor or ABS component in the system. The quick fix is to locate the ABS fuse in your fuse panel, remove this fuse and abs is disabled. Your brake will function normal and it is safe to drive w/o abs until you can have it checked out, keep in mind you will lock you brakes under heavy braking conditions.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Anti-Lock brake light and traction off light came on

U have most likely damaged a wheel sensor ring, in order to ID the one you damaged u will need to have the ABS/TRACTION CONTROL system tested for trouble codes, this will lead to the right area for repair.

SOURCE: brake light nad rear anti lock light wont go off

Check the fluid level, top it off if needed, look for a fill to line on the side of the reservoir. Check rear brake shoes/pads, are they too worn? Replace with new ones. Bleed all 4 wheels, starting with the farthest one, then go to next farthest, and so on. Look for leaks inside the rear wheels. Adjust rear brakes (if shoes not pads).

I have a 2010 Pontiac G6 the anti lock keeps coming on but I can still start my car and drive it. How do I get the anti lock off? I mean it’s my car and I have the key for it every time I drive ??

Anti-Lock BRAKES, or Anti THEFT system?

Antilock brakes (ABS) you need a garage.

Anti-theft system, are you using the key you have always used. A Valet key only open doors. If the anti-theft light comes on and you can still drive it, you need an auto-electrician or a new vehicle.

Brake light and abs light is on

Red lite comes on at startup to ck. system. If amber lite stays on, ck. brake fluid level and see if emergency brake is partly up. This shows problem with anti lock system if it stays on, not main brake system. If all is ok with this but still stays on Have ABS system checked. Haynes repair manual, 95-2003 Windstar, all models.

Had to brake hard , now the brake and anti-lock lights won't go out

You may be able to turn the light off by using a scanner.
sometimes the light comes on just because you use the system
it may also go off after 20 or 50 starts
You may also have a damaged part keeping the light on.

My traction control light and my abs lights keep coming on what does that mean and how do i fix it?

The abs is your anti-lock braking system. It may work with your traction control light, I'm not sure. But you apparently have a problem with your anti-lock brakes. It could be the hydraulics or it could be the brakes themselves. I would have it checked out.

My 1999 Monte Carlo trac light comes on during regular driving? Why?

the trac light is designed to come on to let you know that the traction control is working, it works by engaging the anti-lock brake system to keep the front wheels from spinning, it will also come on if you are stopping hard enough to engage the anti- lock brakes, this also could be a sign that your brakes are getting worn and might need replaced

2001 Alero - anti-lock brake light warning light won't go out - had brakes replaced - is there a re-set button?

no reset button.have the car anti-lock brake system scanned.to check code.because when anti - lock brake light come on.it can be many things.like faulty wheel sensor.faulty relay or the anti - brake unit low on brake fluid or the abs unit faulty.

Front left brake keeps locking up

i suspect that you have a bad caliper which is sticking. look there first, and always replace both if on the front, since murphy's law usually applies. thats where 60% of your stopping power comes from. the anti lock system won't normally cause the problem you describe, but a bad caliper will. make sure the rotors are ok as well.
