The power sliding side door on my oldsmobile 2002 silhouette keep opening and shutting continuously. I changed the fuse as it wasn't closing before. help

I had the same problem with mine, on the door there is a metal contact that gets coroded. i wire brushed the plate then it closed and opened fine.

Sounds like you have a problem with the automatic door switch. I'd have a mechanic or a body shop check it out. If you know where the automatic door switch is located and how to replace it, there probably pretty cheap at your local autoparts stores.

It is likely the power sliding door. If you turn off the PSD feature and close the door manually you can by-pass the alarm. Most likely the automated closing mechanism is having a problem

Each door has on or two contacts that touch one or two other contacts when the door is closed. These contacts get dirty over time and don't make contact in order for the warning light to go off. You can clean the contacts with a cleaning solution and a scuff pad or cloth. I believe this will fix your problem. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Your problem is the door thinks that it is already locked and closed. You need have the sliding door unlocked, have someone pull the handle as if they were going to open the door and then use a tool to "Open" the latch that normally would hold the door closed.

Drivers side power door not working, has power. at first it would reverese, know it will not open, to close, it slightly moves. manualy closes fine. when closed frt. button chimes like door still open.
Most likely motor has gone bad. If you can still hear the motor working then it might just be off the track.

sounds as if the cable is shot which means that the motor will have to be replaced cause i think after 01 they went from cable pulley to sleeved cable and cause of the frayed cable in the sleeve is causing the stiff door btw i have installed power sliding doors on my 02 venture and know the system intimatly

2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette....Power lock on my power door doesn't come up completely and the door doesn't open with or without the button. What can I do? I also believe my van has other electrical issues...
From the back of the front door slide your hand in the sliding door crack and find the child-safety-lever. Push the lever up and/or down while moving the sliding door manual lock/unlock button to the up position. Also works on the non-powered sliding door.

Look in your owners manual there is a procedure to reset the door controls. If that dosen't work maybe the motor is burnt out, it's in the left rear access panel.

most like your contacts on the door and jam are either worn or coroded. try using a soft old tooth brush and a lil dab of toothpste to clean the copper contacts. if the problem still exist the contacts or too worn and should be replaced
