Hi: If this is your 1st time to Change your Spark Plugs, I recommend that you First of All Get the Correct Spark Plugs from your Auto Parts Store, Then Locate your Spark Plug Wires which run from your Distributor Cap to your Spark Plugs. If you have a V-8 There will be 8 if you Have a V-6 Then You'll have six Spark Plug Wires and 1- COIL Wire which is located in the Center of your Distributor Cap to your Coil. It is the Shortes Wire.I Recommend you ONLY do 1-Spark Plug at a Time, This will Prevent you from getting any of your wires Crossed which will Cause your Engine to Run Rough ,Back Fire or Not even Start,So just Pull off 1-Wire From Spark Plug and one Wire From Your Distributor Cap, You'll Need a Spark Plug Socket Probally 5/8th in. And a Ratchet and 2- Different Size Extensions to beable to reackh all your Spark PlugsNOTE!! Buy you a Spark Plug Wire Tool there not very Expensive but well worth it,This was you Can Pull the Wires with out Damaging Your Wires. And you Might Want to Put NEW Spark Plug Wires On as well, If So and I do Recommend This. And Again Just do 1- Wire and Plug At a Time So you'll know you Have Not Crossed any Wires. Hope This Helps You ,Please Respond by Voting on This Problem And How it Helped You. Thanks From WYOCWBOY

I need the timing marks of a Toyota hilux KZ TE with turbo 3L 2002 model

John, find which is Spark Plug Number 1.
Then remove all spark plugs
Place long straws down the Spark Plug Housing
Turn Crankshaft
Watch the straw go up and down while turning
Mark the straw at its peak (coming to the top)
Now you are at ATG's peak (diy/mechanics will say "TDC")

How to change spark plugs on chery qq te 2009 model

Not sure about exact model info - but locate the plugs, they might be under a plastic cover along the top of the motor. Do not over tighten the new ones - Aluminum is VERY soft, Id say no more than 1/4 turn after hand/finger tight..

Plug leads should be remembered or do one at a time..

My 1999 ranger has a miss at idle and acceleration changed wires and plugs, tried injector cleaner- no help.

You need to verify why you have a skip. If it's not a cylinder with low compression, (bad valves or broken piston ring) then it is usually no spark, or no fuel. While at idle, unplug one injector wire harness at a time, and if it stalls, that cylinder is working. Plug it back in. Then go to te next, one...what you are looking for is to unplug one and have no change. There would be your problem cylinder. Then verify if you have spark, and also a "pulse" at the injector, by using a noid light tester.

I have a 2001 Ford Windstar w/3.8 V-6. The codes state that #5 cyl has a misfire. I just changed the plugs, put new plug wires on & installed 4 new O2 senors. What else should I be looking for?

Double check the plug wires, if the boot to the plug wire was not installed with spark plug boot lube. It may have pulled away from the plug just enough to make it a bad connection. Go back and push on the plug wire boot to the spark plug and make sure the wires are routed properly and not touching anything other then the separator that hold the wires in place. The other thing would be a dirty injector ir an bad wire to the injector. Start with te plug boots and routing. Good luck friend, I have a Montana and same thing here, take me longer to ensure that all the plug wires are set then to replace the plugs.

SPARK PLUG GAP

These engines use platinum plugs-you don't gap these type of plugs because you will damage te platinum electrode and cause misfire problems. Make sure you use bosch platinum factory recommended plugs and if he vehicle has more than 75k i would recommend replacing your plug wires as well/

Takes a long time to start, when started it putts.

distributer cap and button are weak it sounds like
put the screw driver in the spark plug boot. close to a ground
make sure its not aluminum.
turn the engine over when its somewhat dark
look for the intensity of the spark.
if the sparks bright then its strong IE if the sparks not strong means its the coil that needs to be replaced.or the wires
More then likely its the cap button or plug wires..
if there is any cracks in the wires they will leak power out.. making it use more gas to make it run.

NO FIRE

hi there, you need to make sure all wires to spark plugs are tight and very snug, you will also need to check the distributer cap to make sure no burns are on it, and make sure the plugs are in proper firing positions, the spark rotation might be out of sequence.....also make sure spark plugs are clean of all oil, and dirt, firing pin in distributer cap might be bad.....hope this helps....shia
