SOURCE: Pontia Aztek 2001 acceleration problem
not sure if it'd be the same thing but i used to have a 93 thunderbird & it did the same thing. in park the rpms would be SOOOO high & it'd be loud & then in drive it'd hit 50+ with no gas pedal @ all. i found out it was what is called an "idle control valve" i went to autozone, bought it & replaced it & TA-DA!!! back to normal she went. i'd check into that to see if it could be the same thing. good luck

yes the gauges should go up and down they are selftesting your starting problem could be starter related they were having problems with those, also try turning ignition to the on position for 3 seconds before trying to start, also gm has a tsb for hard start issues

Call the dealership. I seem to remember that Pontiac had a recall for this problem just recently where the antilock brake system would lock op and the system caused people to get into accidents. This is a manufacture defect

I had a similar issue when i replaced the brakes on mine. Turned out that I had a bad caliper. Onc e i replaced that, it was fine. Also, when the car is not running, your brakes will "pump up" because the master cyl. is not operating

1970 GTO, Car bogs when you first give
