Replaced the distributur ran but barly tryed to rotate the dist but ran out of room. pulled out and rotated then reinstalled now wont start. Help : )

Take out #1 plug if possible. put straw or something similar in plug hole on top of piston, put a wrench on crankshaft pulley nut and rotate engine. when piston gets to the top it should be on tdc. and rotor pointing to #1 wire on distributor cap. replace plug and adjust dist, if piston is on top, and dist, is off. pull dist so the rotor button points to #1. GOD-bless! OR YOU CAN ALSO ALIGN THE TDC MARK ON CRANKSHAFT DAMPER.

Something has sheared. Is there a pin on the distributor drive gear, are the gears on the cam and dist. shaft perfect / no flat spots at all, is there a keyway or key on the crank or cam gears that has sheared? Must be a weak point that was slipping somewhere.

Three days ago i had to remove the intake manifold on my 1994 gmc yukon 5.7 liter had to remove throttle body and dist have replaced along with dist cap, rotor and coil the truck ran fine but now won't...

Check to make sure the coil wire is secured to the distributor cap and rotor.
Also check that the rotor is not cracked (even if new) and that the spark plugs are not loose - wires are not loose, frayed etc.
Also, make sure all connections on the battery, ground at chassi, and positive on starter are in good repair as well.
Please, let me know if you need further assistance.

Keep getting moisture inside dist cap ,already replaced cap and rotor but if it rains the problem is back even if I did not use the truck.and the cap is not loose.

check the distributor, there should have a seal ring where the cap goes. the ring should be inbedded in the distributor housing.

1500 chevy suburban 5.7 won't start in rain

Time for a complete tune up, this time put a distributor cap on too, plugs wires cap rotor, and use quality parts. what you got here is condensation getting under dist. cap most likely because cap has a hairline crack in it.

No spark from dist power in none out new dist

Check the rotor, and the coil inside the distributor. Check the distributor cap for any cracks and the rotor. Be sure that the wires , spark plugs are good. And that the distributor is marked when you remove it to make sure the timing is right. there have been cases where the shaft that goes into the oil pump fro the distributor has not engaged into the pump.
