1995 dodge ram what would cause the oil pressuar gadge to bottom out and then come back up consistantly, firs thought was it might be the oil pump but not sure now

did you check the oil pressure senser that controls the gauge? on my engine it is located at the rear of the engine near the distrubiter, also check the shaft that drives the oil pump
if you r out around alot of dirt and dust u might need to blow out your radiator all the fins might be plugged up and not letting the cool air to pass through
The oil pump is located inside the engine. Down in the oil pan. It sounds like you need to replace your valve cover gasket. I would make sure to buy Fel Pro. They are the best gaskets in my opinion.
