2004 volvo s60. need help asap

No warning to the events. On numerous occassions, the car feels as if it has hit a large object, temporarily lurches and appears to momentarily stall creating a temporary loss of vehicle control. This is followed by an immediate loss of all instrument gauges, air conditioner, window controls and dool locks. The fan did continue to work. The abs warning light also indicated as well as a warning that no brakes function existed. The srs service air bag urgent indication is illuminated. On turning the car off and restarting, the functions of the car return with exception that the srs service air bag urgent indication remains. This problem can take months to repeat or only a matter of minutes. It seems to be more prevalent in hot weather.

I thought I was going to be a Volvo for life kind of customer until experiencing electric problems with all my Volvos.. This is my second Volvo and was looking to buy a new one next year but changed my mind after my Volvo S60 2004 had the same computer/software/electric problem with the SRS-Airbag urgent/error message. Twice while driving in hot weather the car's dashboard indicators turn off, the car still drives but needs more power. I turn it off and on and everything is back to normal with the SRS-airbag message on. My solution is to buy a different brand of car next time, Volvo cars are really bad with the electrical system.

Hi I have a 2004 volvo s60 and recently had to replace the o2 sensor because it kept stalling ...2 months later its doing the same thing. It stalls every now and then mostly when im slowing down to stop....

A throttle position sensor will also do that because the engine doesn't know what it is receiving and what to to do.If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg

Whenever the car hits a large bump in the road the engine turns off. The car will imediatly start back up though.

Check all the battery connections. Momentary power loss causes the computer to shut down.

2004 volvo s60 check engine light on

You could have a bad MAF (mass air flow) sensor. It would really help if we could know the code. Have you ever fueled up with the engine running? How is your fuel mileage? Has it ever backfired?  Why don't you run by an auto parts (they will do it for free) store and have it rescanned and get back to me.

2001 volvo s60 t5 - performance reduced warning message, limp mode activated

i have a 2000 s60 2.0t and got the software update due to the recall. it apparently was some kind of safety measure when a fault of some kind occurred but it nearly got someone killed while overtaking and thats why the recall happened. sounds like the same issue but i could be wrong.
