Alarm help , Lost my keys, bought new ones from Chrysler. Alarm will not let me drive it.(keys not programed) How can I get it to the dealer? Or will the dealer come to me?

You will have to either pay a locksmith (they have to have the right computer) or the dealer to program one of them. If they do both for same price great, but once you have 2, you can program any others yourself.

The Valet key is not is not a ignition key only men't to open the trunk ect. your dealer can replace and program a new key for you.

f you go to a chrysler dealer and buy the correct replacement key for your car you won't have these issues.

With only 1 key, no. To do it yourself you need 2 keys. But if you have a good rapport with dealer they may not charge to program it. On the other hand you might check with a locksmith because some have the progtammer necessary.and that would most likely be much cheaper if the dealer does charge.

sad news sorry. you will have to take your vin # to the local chrysler parts dept and they will order a new alarm fob for you providing it is still the factory installed alarm

that is a arter market alarm .that year did not come with a keyless enter. I have I have 2 conveter lebarons in my garage now. you will need to remove the after market alarm

make sure that the the remote's battery is still good otherwise it wont activate your vehicle but if it is equipped with an alarm ( your car), then possibly alarm stays on everytime you open your door with the key which has no chip in it. go get new battery for your remote.

there is a special tool to program it, unless you have two valid keys.

the s type does have factory securityonly having one key, you will have to go to a dealer and have them hook up the computer called I DS and program new key...... would be very wise to have remotes programmed at same time , no more cost if done at same time as keys....
you should ALWAYS have three keys that start the vehicle...
if one is lost, YOU can program another but if you only have two and lose one ...once again you will have to pay the dealer to program your keys

That remote should not be able to  be programmed by you, it needs to be programmed by the dealer using their computer.  I know that some later and earlier models can be programmed by the user, but I did some research on this as i have a 96 as well and it seems the 96 was a dealer computer thing.  If you in fact bought the remote from the dealer they should be willing to program it for FREE.  Otherwise I was given a $30 estimate for the programming.
