Deb, all 1985 Chevy Blazers were shipped with a sticker in the engine compartment, which includes a vacuum routing diagram, spark plug gap specification, and firing order. Look around the engine compartment and I'll wager it's still there.
I would say that the problem is going to be under the hood in the steering somewhere. Not in the steering column. Check to make sure that the tie rods are not pulling or pinching a wire.
Not a good thing. Something came apart or has broken. I would'nt drive it either. First thing buy a shop repair manual at your local AP store for your blazer and read how to fix. If this is not a fixable problem buy a used steering colum at a used auto parts. Use the manual to install.
Your vehicle as an ignition control module located on top of the distributor (under the cap and rotor) I would pull the ICM and take it to NAPA and have it tested if bad replace it (cost about $80). Sounds like a ICM problem or it could be the ignition switch located on the steering coloum which can't be tested but costs $20. Hope this works
have you checked, cady, fuel tank, is it getting the right amount of gas and air? plugs and wires, go with general mantinence first then step up. i have a 85 s10 blazer that was a lemon off the lot but has over 300000 on it and it has the same prob i fix it tempurary by flipping the lid on the breather upside down so it gets more air
how do i tighten it to keep it from moving at tiltwheel joint
