Car's transmission's gone into limp mode. "Limp Mode", is where your transmission's ECU keeps the trans from killing itself. Have you noticed a difference in acceleration? When you get on the highway are your RPM's higher than normal?
Limp Mode restricts your engine and transmission from working itself too hard to keep it from messing something up. Could keep it from getting to certain gears, keep it from revving too high.
It could be the transmission ECU (its computer). Then again it could be the transmission.
Take it to a mechanic or a friend with a ECU code reader. That will tell you a better idea of what could be wrong.
Good luck friend.
