My 2005 Cadillac STS trunk lifting handle quit working one day...5 days later, it fell out...just fell right out of the trunk lid. Looks rusted out and curroded. First of all, what is the part called...is it the sensor? (It is 6"x2.5" rubber sensor latch release/handle/open mechanism) I have google and Ask.comed and everything else and can't find the part or a picture to verify it is corrrect. NOTE: I baby my sh**box Cadi--garage kept, serviced ahead of time and yet, everything and anything has gone wrong. Who'da thunk the damned trunk lever would fall out!! And I rarely use the trunk. Thanks for any help.

pull the ash tray all the way out , press down on where you would stub out the cigarette while you the pull the tray right out

Most cars with dead battery you can turn key, then lift handle then turn key more to manually unlock (driver's door).

The fuse is located under the rear seat in the fuse box.Trunk/valet fuse.

TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN

It can be trunk cable issue or the latch issue which gets open/close. It has to be inspected. =========

It is much better to remove the trim from the inside of the trunk lid. It is quite easy and you will eliminate the possibility of scratching the paint on the exterior or breaking one of the lamp housings. With the trim off, you don't actually need to remove the lens. You can simply reach in, twist the bulb and remove. I've never had one of the lenses out (although I have replaced my licence plate bulbs) so I'm not sure if the ability to remove them from the outside is accurate or not. Also I take my replacement bulbs from here Aliexpress Homepage almost for free, hh

A po300 means you have several cylinders misfireing ! Depending on mileage it could just need new plugs ! If you try new plugs only use delco plugs in that vehicle ; it will save you a lot of problems later down the road !

Hello: On the rear bumper, driver side lower portion you will see a square which you can flip open with the key you have. Once open you will see a lock cylinder, insert the key and turn. That will open the trunk. Inside the trunk you will see a handle, pull it and it will open the drivers door. That should do it.

2 screws located under trim panel at pull handle where u close door another screw at handle (door open) under trim cover. then plastic retainers hold panel to sheet metal. slide flat bladed preferebly plastic tool between trim and door and pry out words at retainer

One possibility is the trunk lid latch motor, if it doesn't sense the lid latched, it will continue to run.

the bottom seat is under pressure.
try pushing it towards the trunk and lift it.
