1994 Altima SE idles very poorly and

1994 Altima SE ,with 184000 miles, idles very poorly and "chugs" when idling, especially when put in reverse. knock sensor, plugs, dist. cap and rotor have been replaced. ERG vale is functioning. injector cleaner was used several times. vacuum leak was repaired. what else could be the problem?

thank you for the information. i will try it. i also forgot to say in my first post that i recently had the fuel pump and fuel filter replaced and the fuel pressure was good. thanks again!

the problem resolved about 3 weeks after adding marval mystery oil to the fuel system and the oil. now has more horsepower it seems. it's running the best it's ever run( i bought it 6 years ago with 164000 miles on it).so, maybe it was a clogged injector.

85 ford f150 302 v8 2val carb stall when put in gear

How long since a tune-up? Have you checked the timing? How many miles on engine? How is your cylinder compression?
There isn't much load on engine in park or neutral. When you put it in gear, there is a load on the engine. With carbed engine 6--8 psi fuel pressure. Crub idle in drive, 575 rpms. With a high mileage engine, that idle speed may not work. Is there an idle screw on the carb, where you can up the idle to keep it from stalling, in gear? Of course if you do that, when you put it in park or neutral the idle is going to go high, I know it's a pain. If your engine is in poor shape, your probably going to have a tough time, getting it to run correctly. Just my opinion.

I have a 06 altima that smokes a little bit while

You most likely have bad compression in engine. Notorious for bad catalytic converters. Scores piston walls and fits your description. Gut out cats fill with engine restore. and start looking for a engine.

1994 nissan altima rough idol when stoped runs

My 1994 Altima has always had rough idle but runs smooth. I now have 176,000 miles on it and drive it daily. Best car I ever owned. I wouldn't let the rough idle bother me.

22 re rough idle and seems to be bad mileage

if your exhaust system is not up to factory spec this will cause idle and rough running conditions,as well as the poor fuel economy, this is due to the sensors not getting accurate readings and sending skewed info to the onboard computer, (the exhaust system has as many as 3 sensors, although i think yours has only one, if you can also remove the catylitic converter, you will get more power./better fuel economy

1994 Nissan Altima shakes while idling

Broken or worn out engine mounts will cause allot of engine vibration in drive at idle, reverse also, change all 4 the mounts, not just the 2 broken ones. As far as slow acceleration no mounts will not cause that, Have you reached the 100,000 mile recommended tune up? have you ever replaced the fuel filter, this is required every 30,000, let me know.
