When the engine sounds like an airplane, the most common problem is your fan clutch. It's not dis-engaging, all of us have had that problem OR will at some point with this vehicle platform. Replace the fan clutch.

The next time it will not start check the fuel pressure, I will bet you have none, the electric fuel pump is affected by temperature due to wear.

1989 cadilac fleetwood air pump is noisey can I bypass it the vehicle is not worth putting this kind of money into a new one and i only need vehicle for another 6 months

the air pump is designed to pump cold air into the exhaust system for the first few minutes to heat up the exhaust gas so it can burn the raw fuel in the exhaust. after that it only free wheeling. by pass it you will pollute the air more but it does not affect the drivabillity.

I have a 2005 pontiac grand prix and i have errer code p0411. Engine light is on what do i do?

P0411 is The Secondary Air Injection system. It is used on cold starts to run fresh air into the exhaust to help fire the cat up.

Look around for a broke hose that goes from the intake system to the exhaust that is controlled by a solenoid.

Their are three phases that will trigger codes your code is phase 1 of the systems operation.

I would take the vehicle to a shop to have this serviced. Or you can ignore the code. Their wont be any detrimental affect other than if you have smog or e-check your car will fail.

2008 bettle secondary air injection sys incorrect flow

the air pump should start when car is cold, if you do not hear a small airplane under your hood, than it is not functioning, if you do, you'll need to do other diagnosis (checking vaccum lines most likely), but being such a new car, a dealer would probably be under warranty.

96 Grand Am SE2 2.4L starts and dies immediately

sounds like security system problem...to re-set, put key in ignition, turn to run, till security light stops flashing. turn off then start car. See if this helps!

The air pump is an emission control device. It is not going to really affect the running of your car as far as performance; however, if you live in an area where they test for emissions, it could definitely cause you to flunk an emissions test.

WELL AIR PUMP PURPOSE IS TO INJECT AIR INTO THE EXHAUST DOWN STREAM FROM THE EXHAUST PORTS TO HELP COMPLETE THE COMBUSTION OF ANY UNBURNED GASES AFTER THEY LEAVE THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. YOU HAVE TO FIX ITS PART OF EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD BE AGAINST EMISSION LAW AND YOUR VECHICLE WILL FAIL STATE INSPECTION.THEY WILL FAIL IT FOR STATE INSPECTION.
