1989 dodge d-series pickup. Truck was running fine and parked at work. At end of shift, the truck cranks but no fuel pressure in the system. Removed hose at filter and cranked. No fuel from pump. Is it...

Are you sure there is fuel in the tank (you may have run out or someone - a thief - may have syphoned it without your knowledge). If the fuel pump is electrically operated then when you first turn the ignition key on you should hear the fuel pump whirring for a couple of seconds as it primes the fuel system (if you don't hear the pump operating in this way then it is possible that either the fuel pump fuse has failed, there is a loose connector or a faulty fuel pump). Check also that the earth connections are sound. It could also be kinked fuel hose (unlikely but possible) between the fuel tank and the filter.

86 Dodge ram D - 50 - Fuel Pump

A carburetor type engine has the pump on the engine near the front on the side--trace the fuel line down. Fuel injected engines have the pump located in the fuel tank.
