2001 F150 4.6L V8 270K MI. NO COMPUTER.FUSE BLOWS AT IGNITION

2001 F150 4.6L V8 270K MI. BLEW #3 PLUG OUT OF BLOCK. RETHREADED AND REPLACED. NOW RUNNING ON 4 CYLINDERS AND NO COMPUTER TO MANAGE THE ENGINE. THE FUSE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT THAT GOES TO THE ENGINE COMPUTER BLOWS THE FUSE AS SOON AS THE IGNITION IS TURNED. SO WHERE DO I START? SEEMS TO ME THE FUSE WOULD BE ON THE LINE SIDE OF THE COMPUTER TO PROTECT THE COMPUTER RATHER THAN THE COMPUTER BLOWING THE FUSE ON THE LOAD SIDE OF THE COMPUTER. I HAVE NOT LOOKED CLOSE AT THE ENGINE YET BUT I DID SEE SOME OVERHEATED WIRE COMMING OFF THE BATTERY. ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHAT FUSE GOES TO WHAT COMPONET ON THE ENGINE. I INTEND ON REPLACING THE ENGINE BUT WOULD BE NICE TO BUY SOME TIME IF I CAN GET THIS ONE TO RUN ON ALL 8 CYLINDERS. THANK YOU SAM.

My power window and door locks fuse keeps blowing.

When the fuse blows figure out what you are doing, what switch is being pressed, then remove the needed panels to access the wiring to the switch and motor it operates, then you will find the damaged wiring and repair the short, no quick fix, just hard grunt work.

Ck engine light problem on 2001 Impala

Well the code is for the circuit - the computer commands the relay to turn the fan on and it doesn't happen.
The computer provides the ground for the relay.
If you have replaced the relay and the fan and the fuse still blows, I would look for a problem in the harness between the fuse box and the fan, including the ground circuit for the fan.
The fuse for the cooling fan is usually a 30amp marked "cooling fan" in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
Do you know what the 25amp fuse that is blowing is for ?

I have a 1993 ford explorer, every time i turn the ke to the run position, it blows the ignition 60amp maxi fuse under the hood. The first time this happened, I replaced the fuse and the SUV ran fine for a...

I'm no expert but when you turn key to run position, this turns the fuel pump on if the pump is faulty i would think it would blow the fuse also. Or its your theory a short in the ignition system wiring.

Is this fuse 11--10 amp under hood fuse block?
If so, I'd unplug your ignition module. With dis ignition, the coil pack sits on ignition module. The end of ignition module that has two electrical connectors, one is a two wire connector, wire colors pink and black, disconnect it, see if fuse still blows? If it still blows and we're talking about the same fuse, at least you know what isn't causing it to blow. I'm trying to make sure we're on the same page about the fuse, according to my wiring diagram?

Blows ignition fuse

You'll want to check the coil packs on the engine by disconnecting them, one at a time, and temporarily replacing the fuse with a circuit breaker of the same rating. Try starting the engine with one coil disconnected (leave it on the engine, but disconnect the wire). If it stays running (though poorly) with a coil diconnected without tripping the breaker, you've found the bad coil and you can replace it easily.
Other than this, take the car into a competent mechanic to diagnose as many electrical issues involve sensitive electronic parts.

Blows fuse wont start

More than likely its being caused by a short-circuit to ground in the wiring in your Cranking Circuit.

If it blows the fuse immediately after installing the fuse, its probably a hot-wire. If it blows it the second you try to crank it over, its probably one of the wires between your ignition and the Starter Relay.

To track down the bad wire you'll need a Wiring Schematic for the vehicle and either a Digital Volt/Ohm-Meter or Test-Light and a basic understanding of wiring which is... honestly a little hard to explain over the internet. However, that is the only course that can be taken without taking the vehicle to a qualified Dealership Technician.
