Code1 p0088 = Fuel rail/system pressure too high
code 2 p0087= Fuel rail/system pressure too low
code 3 p2291 = Injector control pressure, engine cranking-pressure too low. I would suggest clearing the codes first and then rechecking to see which (if any) codes reappear. Good Luck.

Testimonial: "Thanks for quick response. I'll clear the codes as you suggest and see if they reappear Thanks"

Diesel. Reduce power lite turned on. Shut off engine and started back up - lite is off. Can it be driven?

Jerry, Drive to a good shop. So many things can cause reduced power light unfortunately. The first step would be to get the truck hooked up to a scanner/computer and have the computer scanned for trouble codes. One thing that you could try is to drain the water from the water separator that is mounted on the frame under drivers front door. If the PCM picks up on water, power is reduced until water is removed/drained. It could be an exhaust sensor that is reading faulty. Unfortunately from here its impossible to tell you exactly what the fault is because there are just so many engine sensor inputs that could cause your problem. Check the attached links, forums, instruction and guides, Good luck

2005. What are the probable causes of DTC P1616?

compass. 2005? it was introduced in 2006 but marked 2007
what engine?

2.0 L World I4 (gasoline)
2.0 L VW I4 (turbo diesel)
2.2 L OM651 I4 (turbo diesel)
2.4 L World I4 (gasoline)

P1 means factory only code (jeep)
1616
shows up for 2007 and up. only
the official message is.
P1616-5V OUTPUT REFERENCE VOLTAGE #1 LOW

the PCM sends +5vdc refr, power to many sensors.
if one shorts, the voltage drops and this DTC sets.
what we do is measure the voltage.
then pull those sensors 1 by one. and find the offending sensor.
i cant be more SAVVY then that, no engine stated, so ....
no sensors to show you.
on one gas engine
the PCM C2-pin 41 is 5v out.
the throttle body uses that.
so does cam sensor and crank Hall sensors.
or the wire to them shorting to ground.

get car seviced,
any ASE tech can fix this, he has the same drawing im reading now.

What is code , po299' on mitsubish shogun 2008

the following answer is courtsey of OBD-CODES.com OBD Codes Your OBD-II Trouble Codes Repair Site Home Trouble Codes FAQs Forums Store P0299 Turbo / Supercharger Underboost OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Underboost Condition What does that mean? The P0299 DTC code refers to a condition where the PCM/ECM (powertrain/engine control module) has detected that the bank "A" or single turbocharger or supercharger is not providing a normal amount of boost. That could be due to a variety of reasons, which we detail below. On a normally operating turbocharged or supercharged engine the air going into the engine is pressurized and that's part of what makes so much power for an engine of it's size. If this code is set, you will likely notice reduced power output. In the case of Ford vehicles, this may apply: "The PCM checks for a minimum throttle intake pressure (TIP) PID reading during engine operation, which indicates an underboost condition. This DTC sets when the PCM detects that the actual throttle intake pressure is less than the desired throttle intake pressure by 4 psi or more for 5 seconds." Symptoms Symptoms of a P0299 DTC may include: MIL (Malfunction indicator lamp) illumination Reduced power output from engine, possibly in a limp mode Unusual sounds from the engine/turbo There would likely be no other symptoms. Potential Causes Potential causes of a P0299 turbo underboost code include: Intake (induction) air restriction or leak Failed or damaged turbocharger (sticking, binding, etc.) Faulty boost/charge pressure sensor Faulty wastegate bypass regulator valve (VW) Low fuel pressure condition (Isuzu) Sticking turbo nozzle control solenoid (Isuzu) Faulty injector control pressure (ICP) sensor (Ford) Low oil pressure (Ford) EGR system fault (Ford) Variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) actuator (Ford) VGT vanes sticking (Ford) Possible Solutions First off, you'll want to repair any other DTC codes if present prior to diagnosing this code. Start with a visual inspection. Inspect the intake air system for cracks, loose or disconnected hoses, restrictions, blockages, etc. Repair or replace as required. If the air induction system tests OK, then you'll want to focus your diagnosis efforts on the charge pressure control, diverter valve (blowoff valve), sensors, regulators, etc. Really at this point you'll want to refer to a vehicle specific detailed repair manual for specific troubleshooting steps. There are some known issues on certain makes and engines so also check out our car repair forums here and search using your keywords. For example, if you search around, you'll find that a common fix for a P0299 in VWs is to replace or repair the diverter valve or wastegate solenoid. On the GM Duramax diesel, this code may mean the turbo housing resonator has failed. If you have a Ford, you'll want to next check the wastegate regulating valve solenoid for correct operation

How to repair 2008 ford F-350 diesel showing code P2033

code p2033 refers to exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor 2 bank 1 circuit high === causes wiring short to ground --EGT sensor . check the wiring for shorted / broken wires and replace the sensor . If there is no problem with the sensor or the new sensor fails early I would be checking the fuel settings on the pump ( pump timing and cc ratings ) as a hot diesel exhaust indicates over fuelling or pump timing too far advanced.

I have an 1999 ford f350 7.3 powerstroke. I'm having white smoke coming out of the exhaust, I had trouble shot the vehicle the codes are DTC 04 p0562, DTC 03 p1670, DTC 02 p0603 and DTC 01 p0344. I...

P0344 = cam position sensor error
P0603 = Internal control module keep alive memory error.
P1670 = communication error between PCM and IDM
P0562 = system voltage low

My guess is you probably have some wiring issues but it's hard to tell exactly where.
