Where is the AC drain hose on a 2002 Montero Limited? I've looked under the dash, the firewall and underneath. I cannot find it. Help
Firewall..right in the center,,just below two tranversal hoses on the firewall. very difficult to see and access....a real piece of japanese engineering...
Exactly where you said it was - at least for my 2002 Montero XL!. After trying several posted solutions by other helpful folks, this one did the trick. I never would have been able to find it without being told where to feel for it. I never saw it - only by touch!! It felt like a hard little plastic spout, instead of the rubber tube I'm used to seeing.
Indeed - NO HOSE (just end of small white plastic pipe that sticks out) attached to it on my 2002 Montero XLS (3.8, manual A/C), can be reached from top of the enginge compartment (driver's side - central line on the firewall). Just below it runs a black middle size hose (not attached to firewall). The water comming out of a drain hits the mentioned hose. It can be seen only with a help of additional light just below 2 transversal hoses/pipes that go along the firewall. Little WHITE plastic pipe end just below those two piper. There is just a few milimeter space over thos two transveral sttel-pipes to see the (white) drain below them. To access it with more comfort You need to disconnect 2 harnesses/cable for (not) easy hand access... You can (barely !) reach it with a middle (!) finger but no much space to operate any tool there. So use a firm stiff steel wire (I used wire from a cloth hanger) a bit rounded at the end to access it remotelly and then push/pull a few times until you see water comming out. You need a blanket to lay down on the engine to reach this. The engine must be cold otherwihise You WILL burn Your hand. The stiff steel wire can be leaved there (like a dip-stick) for futher non-problematic access re-dos. :-)
