1993 Lexus Ls400 loss of power a 2500-3000rpm when you accelerate hard on the gas pedel, hower if you press down on the gas pedal slowly the power will increase all the way up to 6000rps with no power lost. The power is only lost when you press on the gas pedal fast all the way to the floor of if you try to accelerate full power from a dead stop.

Wish I had an answer - sounds very much like a problem I am having with my '92 LS400. I have a parts car, and have changed out the ECM, fuel pump, injectors, fuel pilter, fuel pressure regulator, ran the can with exhaust unbolted (check for clogged CATs, checked out my timing belt for slippage amoung other things, and nothing works. I have no check engine light on. Do you?

My 1991 LS400 just started doing the same thing. Thought it was the mass air flow switch but it wasn't, also the trac sensor was switched, wasn't it either. Next thing I am checking after doing some research is the ignition coil. The mechanic friend I am working with feels it might be a dead cylinder so the ignition coil might be the cause. Hope this helps you or if you found the issue would appreciate an update for help. Good luck.

SOURCE: 1993 Lexus Ls400 loss of power at 2500-3000rpm

Check your MAF and MAP sensor. The first 80% of your throttle signal from the TPS works with the O2 sensor to try to keep the air fuel ratio to 14.7 to 1 with the ECM controlling the fuel injector spray time and timing the ignition. After the 80% to WOT the ECM puts the O2 sensor in to an open loop and takes the Reading form the MAF and MAP sensor to run the engine richer so there will not be any Detonation to the engine and burning holes in the valves for running too lean. That is why it always feel like you get a little more when you ease off on the gas peddle from WOT. Recap check the TPS, MAF,and MAP sensor and wires to those sensors, if you can get the car scanned that would be great and you may find out which sensor may have gone bad, the other thing to is the fuel pressure regulator may be going bad and at WOT the pressure may be to high causing it to run to rich causing the loss of power. Good luck and hope this helps.

Sounds like your fuel filter is getting clogged up. Get that changed and it will be fixed. Should be an easy, cheap fix. Hope this helps, James Booth :))

My 93 Lexus LS400 won't start. It clicks and according to the battery charger it has a full charge. when i first turn the ignition is slowly wines down then clicks. let me know. thanks

your battery isn't fully charged, or your battery contacts need to checked/cleaned!! The starter isn't getting enough power, this is the reason for the slow spin and clicks.

Loss of power on a lexus ls400

the ls400 had problems with the mass air flow meters acting up. You will have to have it tested because they are not cheap. U can get a used one for around 100.00. They cause the car to boog down while trying to accelerate. Check the wires going to the mass air flow to make sure they are making good contact. I have seen this cause a problem. The mass air flow is located on the hose that goes to the throttle body. I have a good one for a 94 to bad you do not live in texas. leave comment

Sometimes when I press the gas pedal the acceleration isn't as powerful.it feels sluggish and has a loss of power.i can push the pedal to the floor and it moves foward slowly.other times it will work...

Change air filter and TPS (throttle position sensor). It is subject to Physical wear. (1992, Age). A dirty air filter can put the MAF sensor out of range.

As mentioned check ps fluid. If it wines when turning and still no power then the pump is internally bad.. If the fluid is dissapearing fast then its a hose or most likely a leaking rack& pinion assembly..

It sounds like a fuel delivery issue so it could be many things such as low fuel pressure from the pump, clogged or partially pluged fuel filter, a malfunctioning throttle posisitioning sensor (if you have a check engine light on) or if its turbo it could be turbo lag etc.
