PO420 code tells you the catalytic converter is not reaching the proper temperature .. that is measured by the back oxygen sensor (just behind the CAT ... make sure the heat shield is in place (in cold weather) .. you can check for a rattle in the cold CAT (thats bad) .. the rear O2 sensor can be bad or you could have a bad catalytic converter or one thats on it way to being bad .. there are some tests a mechanic can do .. 1. a back pressure test 2. measure the temperature of the CAT surface .. it should be around 225 deg F (after warmup) .. a non contact (IR) thermometer is handy for this .. make sure the pipe behind the CAT and the muffler are not leaking ..some "high flow rate " replacement mufflers will cause the trouble ..

Where is the A.I.T sensor on a 2003 dodge 15005.7L 4wdquad cab

why ask, got DTC error for IAT>< sensor

AIT , no such thing.

IAT MEAN INTAKE AIR TEMP SENSOR.
IT IS ON THE MAIN AIR INDUCTION TUBE TO THE TB, THROTTLE BODY,
SOME CARS IT IS PART THE THE MAF SENSOR;.
why ask this, with no context or symptoms or scan results
the PCm will tell you it is bad if if is bad. scanned

2003 dodge RAM 1500???? this truck
service man SM

The 2-wire Intake Manifold Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is installed in the intake manifold with the sensor element extending into the air stream.
or this sensors

Ambient Air temp ? the Inlet Air temp Sensor

no context told so no idea what;s wrong or up.

if DTC errors scanned, tell them first to put the helper on the same page.

2004 Dodge Ram P0420 code. What could be causing this? My emissions are clean (all were within limits), and I just replaced all 4 oxygen sensors

This code is set when the catalytic converters are operating below tolerable efficiency limits. Basically, your catalytic converters are bad and are in need of replacement. You can have bad converters and still pass emissions, but your computer uses the oxygen sensors to determine how well they are working. If the readings are out of a set tolerance, the check engine light will illuminate and DTC P0420 will set. Clearing the code will turn the light out temporarily, but the next time the test is run, the light will come on again.
Hope this helps.

The codes p1596 and 0420 have appeard on my 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab and was needing assistance.

The P1596 is Speed Control Switch Always High and P0420 is Catalyst Efficiency Below Normal (Bank 1) and try taking the positive cable off battery for ten minutes and see if that doesn't help that way it will reset the computer and may just drop them codes.
