I hooked on a pair of new fogs on my 01 jeep tj. took the same o.e.m wires and connectors.
they worked at the beginning but stopped.
In fuze box, i tried switching the relay with another one. I checked the fuze in both pannels and there all good. i hooked the lights directly on another 12v bat and they work.
also,the fog light indicator (cluster,top left) dosent light up anymore. so....
did i fry anything??
is it a ground problem??
is it related to the cluster/dash lights wirering/fuze??
help!!
i have the haines shop manual with diagrams.i just can't read the fog schematics,and i dont want to risk playing in unknown wires!

I can, but wont. not now,
what is best is leave the cars, electrics alone.
dont hack stock parts.
better is a clean install of fogs
also some states have laws on how fogs work, (logic based on headlamps or parking lamps) so .... i cant guess your state.
a new fuse box or inline fuse
a new relay,
a new switch
and wire it all so it cant catch fire. (that fuse does that)
if you need a schematic for fogs, its generic
and can be found 1,million hits on google

check fuse 19 in the fuse blocks under the hood...there is also a relay for the fog lights

It's definitely the switch...I bought two of 'em so far...known bug. I don't use the fog lights as much anymore , but the "Airtex" oem equivalent switch from Rockauto seems to be holding up well. If you dissamble your broke switch you'll probably see evidence that it is beginning to melt and theres alot, maybe too much, grease, which may or may not have been the cause of the bad, heating contacts inside switch.
If I remember right, even though the foglights have a relay there is still full amperage going through the switch or something....don't qoute me on that last statement.

I would check the fuse first, odds are that this would be it. If the fuse is good check with a vmeter to see if you are getting power to the lights, it could be that you have two blown bulbs, it is not uncommon to have both blow within a short time of one another. if the fuse is good and you are not getting power to the lights chaeck to see if you are getting power to the switch. Try the easy stuff first.
