Sir
i have dodge intrepid 1996,gear problem i used early AM going to school and afternoon going to work, 10 mnts in driving its shifted well, but sometime if i take long drive speciallywhen i make u turn, it won't shift the gear to second gear. even i restart the engine still i got to wait for an hr to make the engine cool ,then i on the engine then it will shift, our mechanics advice me to replace the solenoid pack , no choice i replace it, we make test drive the shifting is normal , but after 2 days again the problem still. please help me.
I believe these models have a transmission temperature sensor. If the transmission gets to hot it puts the car into limp mode until it cools down. A faulty sensor may be your problem. Also you may consider installing a transmission fluid cooler. Most cars have the transmission lines routed through the radiator to cool the fluid but radiators get hot. You want to keep the fluid as cool as possible. Ask your local parts supplier about a transmission cooler. There like 30 bucks but can save you a rebuild later :)
Ok....The pressure switch is inside the solenoid pack. If you just replaced that pack you need to reset the code cache. Try this...Unhook the cars battery for 2 minutes. While its unhooked turn the key on, the headlights ect just to drain any stored power. Hook the battery up and test drive the car. let me know if this works. :)
ok, I have a interlock device in my car could this be adding to this issue
it is hooked to battery system
