I would assume that whom ever you went to,
didn't even test drive the car.
You never leave a vehicle at a shop, that you
do not go for a test drive, with you driving, you can switch
on the way back to the shop
There a too many possible things to check & test to
write a book on here
The TPS Sensor
The Egr Valve
Ignition Misfires
Fuel Pressure Issues
That is just a few common things
You know there is a problem
You also know that being told they could not find
anything is unacceptable
It is especially hard the last 20 years, and very difficult to find
a repair shop & even a dealer sometimes, that is
knowledgeable enough or willing to spend time
to help you
Why?
Takes too long
Costs you too much
The shop looses money,as the
quick jobs keep the money coming
in ,so they stay in business, barely
Try driving it at that speed with your foot slightly on the brake pedal. (enough to put the brake lights on). If your lock up torque converter is acting up, riding the brake will dis-allow it from locking. Do this to see if it might be a lock up converter issue. (They usually lock up for better gas milage around 45-50 miles per hour.)
bonnie when you try to start the battery was dead if so it sound like alternator bad if the shop is not to far charge the battery you should be able to save the tow good luck pierre
