(1995) Often my car dies at stop signs. . . Nothing real weird happens. The rpm just drops and it dies.it has other issues though that I think are related. It also hesitates when to Drive the first time I stop at a stop sign. I'll push on the gas and it will go but very slow and then it takes off. I never really put too much thought into it though I probably should have. It also (not usually when it dies) drops down in rpm's to less than one (probably .7) and then shoots up to about 1.5. (i replaced the egr valve recently but I bought the part from a store that a later found out sold bad electronics. I don't know if it's not working because I haven't had time to get the Service Engine light turned off/checked.)

The idle is set too low, the alternator is not charging enough, poor battery connection, filthy throttle body, dirty air filter are some of the most common causes of stalling at lower rpms.

I have a 1995 C280 Mercedes Benz when in park or neutral idles real low as it is about to die then idles back up to 1000 rpm and continue to do the same. usually stays running though. In drive or reverse...

Not a Mercedes man but if it was a domestic I would say check the readings on the Throttle position sensor first. it should not change unless the throttle is physically moved. after that check the Idle air control valve motor. Hopes this helps. if it was a fuel issue should do it in gear at idle also.

My 1995 jeep cherokee is stalling out after being driven a little while and i have to put it in nutral when cuming to a stop to keep it from stalling ive replaced the m.a.p sensor didnt fix the problem...

Check all the vacuum lines including the power brake booster for leaks. A good way to check the booster is to start the car and with it in park step on the brake pedal and see if you have a drop in RPM's Also if the brakes don't stop the car like it use to is another sign of a booster going bad.

Sounds like the EGR valve is bad and is stuck in the open position.Just replace that and you should also check the catalytic converter.
