1990 chevy 1500 4/4 half ton wipers don't work? I burnt up wiring on my 90 chevy silverado with carb back fire. Replaced wiring with 1989 chevy same model all plugs matched up except oil pressur switch has 2 prongs 90 chevy has 3 prongs, took sending oil unit off 89 and put it on my 90. Only one more difference was gray wire on 90 by computer plug 89 did not have this and 89 had a red and white wire that does't do any thing on the 90 but 89 had it. My problem is when i turn on the wiper motor the oil meter check guages light and water temp light pulsate back and forth when it is on high speed, no low speed no intermitten and the motor makes a noise on anything but high speed, and windshield washer does not come on when you turn pedal on switch. Wiper motor has same plug as 90, 4 wires and middle black. Tryed grounding black wire but no results. What can i do now, all plugs plugged in but wipers don't work. It's my last problem before it is back to normal. HELP IF YOU CAN'T DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT, sounds like a grounding problem or??? SOULUTIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!

Your best bet here is to go to the dealer or a reputable tune up shop and see if they will provide you with wiring diagrams for both years. If you explain your predicament, they will most likely give them to you. They don't like to tackle these kinds of jobs. Then you will have to go through them to see what is different. That is the only way to solve this problem.
Every year there are changes in the details with wiring harness and it's probable that you may have to change the position of some wires going into or out of the computer. Trace out the circuit on both diagrams and reconfigure the 89 harness to match the contact points and routing obf the 90 and you should be able to get your wipers working properly and your gauges to stop flashing. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1990 Chevy 1/2 ton 4/4 truck with auto and 350v8. wiper problems

to whom it may concern, you cant used the harness of 1989 model to 1990 model chevy truck, even the sockets are the same a,b,c,d, thers a big different on wire distribution from the ecu. it better that you find harness on the same model, or if you still not yet finish that problem i will gave you the 1990 ecu diagram on live chat or contact me @ my ym

It is possible both low beams are out and you didn't notice until the second one failed. Have you tried to reset the lights with the dashboard switch?

Chevy silverado 1500 2003. For several months the fan has only worked on "5". Today, even when off it only blows high. I had to pull the fuse for the blower. Any ideas?

The blower resistor needs to be replaced, that is why your only have the highest setting working since the blower speed resistor's are being by past. The other thing that happened is since the blower is always on high, the high current most likely burnt out the blower relay and ir stuck in the close loop and needs to be replaced. pay attention to the wire harness, since it got hot enough to damage the relay, it may have damaged the wire harness to and fire may start due to a short. Good luck and hope this helps.
