It's very possible that a mouse has gotten into the duct work and ended up trapped inside the blower motor fan. The now dead mouse would cause the blower fan to be out of balance & wobble considerably and make noise plus it would smell quite a bit. I see a handfull of dead mice in blower motor fans each year so it's not all that uncommon. The fix is to remove the blower motor and clean out all the debris. Most of the time the blower and fan are fine and can be reinstalled once they are cleaned up. Hope this helps you find your problem!
