I would check for a bad plug wire next and then a compresson test on #5 cylinder.

1999 Rodeo 3.2 doesn't have any plug wires, they have coil packs. You can try to see if the connection at the coil pack is making good contact with the contacts in the connector or check the harness for cracks or breaks.

I have a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo 2.6L cylinders 2 & 3 won't fire after vehicle starts but will fire if I unhook cylinder 1 or 4 what will cause this

USA car? must I GUESS?
so you have 2 coil packs. ????
called wasted park
seems you typed the displacement wrong, !!! 2.2L is 4 banger...
1 and 4 fire as a pair
2 and 3 , fire as a pair , in series

so if the spark wires open , you loose a pair,
say #1 opens, you loose #4 with it.
they are wired in series.
if one spark wire grounds out , you lose only THAT spark plug.
but why would you get the odd pack to pack cross talk.
(assumes you have the HV wired right. correct?)
the packs cant be wired up willly-nillly.
this is the 2.2L coil pack.
and IS wasted SPARK system. for sure.
and can not be mixed up
the PCM is hard coded for 1,3,4,2 firing order.
and must be wired right. did you meddle here?
if you unplug the 2 one right , this must not make the 2 on left work.
pulling 1 wire, only kills the adjacent wire. normal.
see the pairs there, at the bottom see those hiddencoil packs mail coils molded to case?
if you are wired right and you have cross talk from 1/4 to 2/3 bank
the pack is bad.

25857019-xm4r4cd100gbehm3txueal2s-4-0.jpg by cross talk i mean, 1;3 effect 1/4 or the reverse.

P0300 and P0303 misfire codes 2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5L

so missfire detected and cylinder 3 missfire detected.
check to see injector pulse with "noide light" if ok injector is problem
remove fuel rail and injectors look into top of injector for blockage in screen filter in injector if blocked clean out or injector carby places can remove this screen replace it and test injectors and clean or just buy new injectors. make sure to clean out fuel rail and change fuel filter also.
if noide light flashes irratic or not at all wiring issue, check for power on one wire with ignition on 12v other is earthed by ecu when opened to inject fuel. other thing that can cause problem on cylinder is tappet clearance "shims" too tight, could do compression test to see if compression is low on cylinder or a cylinder leakage test to see if valves are leaking. broken valve spring. valves do not hit piston on these engines even if cam belt breaks, they are a "free wheeling" engine

#4 ignition is not firing

I have a 1997 Rodeo with the 3.2L engine. When I experienced a similar problem, I took the coil pack off the #4 cylinder and exchanged it with the #2 cylinder. The misfire moved to the #2 cylinder which proved the coil pack was bad. I bought a replacement coil pack from a junk yard and corrected the problem.

Expect to pay over $150 for a brand new one if you also have to replace one.

Best regards,
Steve

1996 isuzu rodeo keeps reading #2 misfire runs good xcept when cold it hesitates most times or jus occasionally hesitates then the check engine light flashes and its guzzling gas i only got 50 miles on a...

A misfire alarm typically means the coil pack mounted above the sparkplug indicated in the misfire had gone defective.

To test it, swap the coil pack with another cylinder, and see if the misfire goes from #2 to the cylinder you put it on.

If the misfire continues to be on #2, then consider changing the sparkplugs.

I hope this helps.
