REPLACE THAT DOOR SWITCH SEBO.

the door switch has a single wire to it ,when the door is closed the switch moves back and stops the wire touching earth to switch the light off , when door is opened the switch moves forward and allows the wire to contact metal earth of the switch hence closing the circuit to bring lights on , remove switch and clean with a solvent the switch must be bolted to the body to create earth when testing

You may have a damaged door switch. It is in the door pillar, a switch that pushes in when the door is closed. It should come out easy enough to inspect.

more than likely it is the headlight switch. All of the lights work off from it. My dads 97 chev would shut off all the lights after shutting the door. Then you would come back later and the interor lights would be on again and run the battery down.

check the dash light switch and see if the dome light override is depressed. Is it all the doors or just the drivers side?

check small round button beside headlight switch..open door and push button until interior lights come on...should correct problem

switch at light should be at correct position, check for switch at door to make sure it is working

does dome light come on when you open door? also look at the dome light switch and see if it has 3 positions

this is what it looks like it will be mounted on the door jam not on the door just look for it you will find it . it works bye when you open the door it grounds the dome light ground wire to the body. i have fixed thees before it isnt too hard. if the pic does not come up i will put the link under it
