Reset code for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT radio

I need the reset code for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT radio. It says on the radio display "Locked" and understand that there's a code to unlock it because it's got a security system to prevent it from getting stolen. Anything to help would be appreciated.

You can go to a Chevrolet dealership and they will unlock your radio for you. If you are polite to the service manager, then he/she may unlock it for free.

Unfortunately you would only have the code if you bought it new, each code is radio specific and can only be obtained by the dealer, if you have the owners manual it might have been written down by the original owner if that is not you

Replaced the radio in my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with a radio from a scrapped 2001 Grand Am. Radio says "locked". How do I get it to work?.

Because you have removed the radio from a power source it automatically goes into stolen mode making the radio useless when stolen. This mode is selected when you change the battery but in that case you would have access to the code to re-enter it. Talk with a radio tech and they may be able to say how to fix or where to go to get the code.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT. I got it at an auction and the radio says LOC. I cant turn it on. What do i do?

LOC usually means LOCKED because wrong codes have been entered.

To reset , leave SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.

This can often be as long as 24 hours or more as the waiting time doubles after each wrong code.
