Removal disconnect the wire harness on the distributor.remove the distributor cap.Bring the engine to top dead center on the number 1 compression stroke. Align timing mark to 0. put a scribe mark on the distributor housing in line with the rotor.Scribe another mark with the rotot inline with the engine.( note the position of distributor housing in relation to the engine) Remove the distributor hold down bolt raise the distributor noting the rotation as you raise the distributor. At this time do not rotate the crankshaft. For installation reverse the process and check timing using the hood specification.
On my 2002 s10 the small clip on the hood latch where the cable end attaches to the lever was broken.I finally drove a 3/4" mop handle and by prying, forced the grill down enough to unbolt the hood latch and after messing with it for a while I was able to reach behind the latch and press on it enough to drop the latch off the pin.Sure hope I don't ever have to do it again.
You can see where the cable goes from under the car. You can apply some pressure to the hood and release it with your fingers. This is such a pain in the ****. the cable usually costs around $30.00 And is not hard to replace.
check under the hood above the power brake booster there are two relays try swapping them one is the fuel pump relay.if this is helpful please rate this answer and comments are welcome.
I have this same problem. You have to take a screw-driver (philips) and look between the hood and the grill and you will see the hood latch assembly. There will be a large gauge wire with a loop about the size of a large philips head screw-driver. This is the release. Take the screw-driver and push the wire towards the drivers side door and it will release.
The cable is probably broken, but maybe disconnected at the pull lever. Look under your lever, and see if you can see cable. If you can, pull on it with a pair of pliers, and see if you can get it to open. If not, try and reach the cable through your grill , or from under the front end.
Hello, There is no fuel pressure relay. If you mean fuel pump relay, you can find this by opening hood, look towards driver's area, on the firewall just below the cowl vents you should see a relay with 5 wires going to it. CYA, Gator241
