2007 Jeep G C diesel stalling

Since this was new the engine stalls under accelerarion periodically. I slow down for a yield sign or traffic and upon pressing the throttle the engine will drop to 300 rpm. I let off the throttle and it will pick up. The dealer has checked it numerous times and can't find the problem. The ambient and engine temp make no difference, up or down hill no diff, fuel level no diff, the filter has been replaced.

SOURCE: Stalling when engine temp reaches 160 degrees

Here are my theories

Idle Air Control valve (IAC) - allows a small amount of air to pass though throttle body at idle since the butterfly in the throttle body is closed at this time - if this doesn't open the vehicle will stall

Air Intake Temp Sensor - Helps correct air fuel ratio by measuring the temp of the air coming through the intake

Oxygen Sensor - Largest determinate of air/fuel ratio after the vehicle almost reaches operating temp which is approx 160 degrees

Coolant temp sensor - Largest determinate of the air/fuel ratio from cold up to the point when the oxygen sensor takes over

EGR Valve - 5.2 Liters are known for these failing, they redirect a small amount of exhaust gases back into the intake manifold for re-burning (emissions thing). Sometimes they get stuck closed and allow for too much exhaust gas back into the manifold. But usually this would cause very poor performance as well as shuddering and stalling

Use what you know about your condition and what these common fail items are and see if any of them sound like the problem

SOURCE: steps to replace fuel pump on 1999 jeep cherokee laredo 4wheel dr

how are the spark plugs?

would start with those.

the fuel filter is usually located under the hood by the intake manifold and attached to the firewall of the car. the pump is located right by the fuel tank and if you cant see it then its inside the fuel tank. (you will have to lower the fuel tank down to get to the pump.)

STALLING

I had a similar problem. After changing just about every sensor under the hood, I finally fixed it by replacing the CCV valve and the vaccuum hose harness and all the hoses: http://jeep.off-road.com/jeep/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=257985 . It ran a little better and then I tightened down the throttlebody. That did the final trick. To be safe, I ended up changing the TB gasket. All cheap fixes after spending a few hundred dollars listening to Mighty Mopar Men.
