Cant take off the child lock for rear windows

Some cars are designed this way. Either the doors are not wide enough at the bottom to accommodate the size if the window, or they made the opening smaller to make it so a small child could not fall out of the window. Many vehicles have rear windows that only lower half way.

This is in the design of the window lock. In order for the driver to operate the other windows this switch must be turned off. Windows locked are windows locked. You cannot over ride this function without damaging the system.

I have the same problem with my 2006 acura tsx with the windows and cant figure it out...did you figure out what the problem is?...I think the child safty switch went thats all i can think of...pleasse write back thanks!

There are two wiring harness plugs at that switch. It sounds like the plugs are not making a good connection. If you attempt to repair this yourself you will need to remove the driver door panel. This will also void the parts and labor warranty. I highly recommend that you return to the dealer and have them correct this. It will be worth it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Either that child locking feature is at fault or a rod that connects to the handle in the door fell off That are the two choices there is that can be wrong with it

it is probably the lock out switch or if your vehicle is equipped there is a child lockout switch on the door frame, open the door and look at the side of the door where the lock hits the frame and you may see a black button which locks the window control out

Open the rear doors and look down the outer edge of the door round the corner from the outside handle, there should be a little metal tag that can be slid in two positions, child lock on / off. It can be found anywhere between window sill level and the very bottom of the door, but will be there somewhere

I had the same problem when I changed out my window regulator. Take the door apart remove lock and make sure the rod is connected to the little white piece on back of the child safety lock not under it or in the bottom of your door which is enabling it not to move at all because it is not connected this will fix your problem make sure not to knock the window pin out of place

Open the rear hatch. Pull off the inner trim panel. Look to see if there is a little box with a bunch of wires connected to it. It may be at the lower edge, driver side. Turn the key on. Test for 12 volts at the solid BLUE wire (there is only 1 solid blue wire) that is connected to the box. Is there power? If not, check the 30 amp POWER fuse. If there IS power, this box may be bad. This is the power window relay for the rear hatch. The wiper/washer and the rear window motor power all come out of this box.
BUT:
Check for power & get back to me before you buy a relay box, there are a few other tests I could share with you before we pronounce the relay box bad...
